Branding creativity any small biz can use

by Samantha Hartley on February 16, 2007

I noticed on my web designer Sharilyn’s blog that Aviva had done this awesome post.

What I most love about this list – aside from the fact that good lists are just so satisfying – is the importance they have placed on branding.  There are so many opportunities available to companies who really put the effort, on the front-end, into establishing and communicating a unique identity.

Second most, I love the "on the cheap" aspect.
Branding is about identifying your distinctive value and then communicating it with imagery, associations and language that evoke the promise of an experience you will have with that brand. You can do this by spending millions or next to nothing.  The difference usually comes down to creative ideas, effectively (and consistently) executed.

Here are 99 "little known ways"  to get you started. (Hey! I just did #95 yesterday.)

Thanks so much for posting this! I found out about you through Lisa Armstrong at Holistic Arkansas (www.holisticarkansas.com). I’m going to definitely put these suggestions into play. I appreciate all of your articles. I’m at the “get my name out there” point so everything is very helpful!

Hi nice post, i have come across your site once before when searching for something so i was just wondering something. I love your theme, would it happen to be a free one i can download, or is it a custom one you had made? In a few weeks i will be launching my own site, i’m not great with designs but i really like the style of your site so it would be cool if i could find (or pay for) something with a similar look. :) Thanks!

Hi Kent,

Thanks for your comment on my post. My web site was designed originally by Shari Horne (http://www.sharilynhorne.com/) and I cascaded it over to the blog myself. Since then, I have transferred the blog over to WordPress.

If you can let me know which parts are interesting to you (design, layout, main site vs blog), I’ll see if I can better answer your question. You can email me through the contact link above.
